In the only action of the night in the Great South League, the defending Champion Athens Pirates took a 17-4 win on the road versus the Conyers Miracle.

 Jabari Blash of Miami Dade CC led the Pirates with 3 hits including a grand slam and 6 RBI on the night. Don DiPetta of Siena College (NY); George Carroll of New York Tech; and former University of Georgia wide receiver, Jeff Ward, had 2 hits each.

 Taylor Hart, a Middle Georgia signee and Madison County grad picked up the win going 5 strong innings. Hart was relieved by Jonathan Newsome, Athens Banner Herald player of the year, who went 3 innings. John Herman, of UGA, closed out the game.

 The Pirates travel to LaGrange, Ga this weekend for a 3 game series versus the Georgia Stars. The series is a rematch of last year's Championship.
